In the earthly world of quilting, knitting, crafting, and making things, a so-called "UFO" stands for an "Un-finished Object." And most creative folks who make things (whether with words, fabric, paint, or other tools) have several UFOs lying around at any given time.
Many makers get more motivated and feel more productive when they create alongside community. So join us at the twice-monthly Tuesday UFO Club, a chance for creative co-working with friends. Bring your portable unfinished art projects and implements over to the MARS Landing Site (116 Lincoln Ave, aka the former Mineral Presbyterian) on the second Tuesday of each month from 5pm-9pm, or the fourth Tuesday from 11am-3pm.
We'll have coffee, tea, and (Kenneth) Arnold Palmers* available by donation, or bring your own snacks. It's free, kids under 14 are welcome accompanied by a parent or guardian, and we might have a few creative prompts to beam you to your muse.

MARS Clay Camp, Session 1
During July/August 2026, Emiko Naito is leading a multi-week MARS Clay Camp for folks ages 12 and up and of any experience level, so they can get their hands on clay and sculpting tools and learn techniques. Thanks to support from ArtsWA we’re able to offer this workshop for just $25, and we also have scholarships for local ceramics fans ages 12-18 thanks to the Mineral Lake Lions Club. MARS Clay Camp Finale: Pottery Pickup Party
MARS Clay Camp concludes with a drop-in open to the community. Clay Camp participants can come pick up their kiln-fired creations, and ceramics artists Rick Mahaffey and Jana Gardner will each provide talks on their own body of work as ceramicists.

Mineral Arts & Residencies Benefit 2026!
Join Mineral Arts & Residencies (the arts organization formally known as Mineral School) for our annual fundraising benefit at Folio: The Seattle Athenaeum! We've made it to puberty: We got our 501c3, bought a building, managed to host more and bigger residencies, and are heading forward in the space-time continuum. We will raise a toast to the recent year's residents, coming year's programs, our alumni, artist staff, volunteers, program partners, and board. We'll enjoy work and remarks by alumni, nosh on light bites and sip on beer by sponsor Georgetown Brewing and wine by women-owned Welcome Road Winery or your choice of dry beverages. Plus: Every ticket includes an entry for Mineral-rific raffle prizes accompanied by historic tales and a silent auction offering items ranging from books and art to workshops and unique in-town experiences.
